Hi:

I received an extractor/extractor plug/spring in the mail from Accuracy Systems last week.

I called Accuracy Systems after installing the parts in a series 186 Mini-14. I had some concerns regarding my installation.

I was pleasantly surprised (shocked) by the very knowledgeable/friendly gunsmith who answered the phone and talked with me. He did a great job answering all my questions regarding the parts being “drop in “.

I was again surprised when he said “if you have any more questions feel free to call back”.

I forgot to ask the gentleman’s name. Any guesses who I spoke with ?

Subject: Definitely a shooter!

Accuracy Systems Ultra match Mini 14 barrel conversion is 1/3rd through it's break-in. Still waiting on it's scope, so shooting it with just a spare CompM4 (2 MOA, non-magnified US M68 red dot) and the bulk 55 gr .223 stuff we crank out for our M4s. Yet it's shooting 1" groups at 100 yds like that! Definitely impressive. Can't wait for it's scope and then to cook up some tailored .223 rounds for it. The coyotes are NOT going to like this rifle!

Mini 14 Bushing Kit - Well we are thru the Winter and moving to a new house and here we are. So, removed the factory .085, tried several, and settled on .040 as the best shooting. Gun does not jump like it use to and the shells and the shells do not get thrown as far as they did before.

Hi Carl:

Can't ask for anything better than this....

Just wanted to touch base and let you know that after tweaking the optics and experimenting with different ammo, I've finally been able to get the Mini 14 you built for me to shoot well.

The ammo that I've found that works really well is the Barnes Precision Match 69 grain. Shot three groups of three at 100 yds with average group size of 0.91 inches. Best group at 0.5 inches.

Great gun!

I'll definitely be contacting you when the barrel on my 2506 Remington 700 needs replacing.

This is the first group, and the only as I was satisfied with the result

Factory 30-30 170grn out of a 16” barrel run 1950-2000fps for comparison

So long story short, the factory barrel shoots straight w your Harmonic Barrel Stabilizer II on 300 Black Out Mini 14 , with the proper ammo

Hi Carl,
Just a quick note to let you know how pleased I am with the Advanced Mini 14 trigger work you did for me. After receiving the trigger group back from you, I cleaned and lubed it, then reinstalled in the weapon. After putting about 125 rounds at the range yesterday to break the work in, I then measured the pull when I got home.
Pull now has virtually no feel of the first stage transfer anymore, and breaks consistently at 3 5/8 lbs with a very crisp feel.
Pre/Post travel are just right. That compares to the horribly gritty, 6 3/8 lbs factory trigger it was before your work.
My groups have tighten significantly and have me shooting at the limits of this weapons ability. I've been shooting for 50+ years and am very fussy about my triggers, this job has exceeded my expectations of what could be accomplished with a Mini 14.

Hello Carl. This is Chris Cooper. You recently built me a Remington 700 with Kreiger barrel in .308. I had been shooting locally at 100 yards for a while and the gun performed well. I was finally able to take a long range precision shooting class to see what the rifle and I were capable of...to say everyone at the class was impressed is an under statement. The level of accuracy your rifle build performed was amazing. Twice I was able to shoot sub 2" groups at 600 yards! I did not shoot groups at any longer distances but I hit 7" steel targets at 870 yards and man sized silhouette targets at 1000 yards easily. The trip was great and your rifle was the center of attention. I cant thank you enough! The instructors suggested when I contact you that I should let you know they have seen 1000's of rifles pass through the school but this one rifle in particular is extremely accurate and well built.
